Detailed steps of the general manufacturing process of 304 stainless steel rods:
Raw material preparation:
Select suitable specifications and quality raw materials for 304 stainless steel, usually available in the form of 304 stainless steel billets.
heat treatment:
The 304 stainless steel blank is preheated. The common method is to heat it to an appropriate temperature range for solution treatment or annealing to eliminate stress and improve the machinability of the material.
Rough rolling:
The preheated 304 stainless steel billet is sent to the rolling mill for rough rolling operation, and the billet is gradually pressed into a thick bar with a larger cross-sectional size.
Middle rolling:
The thick rod is passed through the intermediate rolling mill for intermediate rolling operation, and it is further pressed and stretched to gradually reduce its cross-sectional size to form a relatively slender intermediate rod.
Finishing:
The intermediate rod is sent to the finishing mill for finishing operation. Through multiple rolling and stretching, the diameter and size of the rod can meet the requirements, and its surface finish and dimensional accuracy can be improved.
Pickling:
After finishing rolling, 304 stainless steel rods are pickled, usually using an acidic solution, to remove scale, oxides and other impurities on the surface of the rod to make the surface cleaner.

The 304 stainless steel rod after pickling is mechanically polished to further improve its surface finish and texture.
Inspection and trimming:
Strict inspection is carried out on the finished 304 stainless steel rods, including the inspection of size, appearance quality, chemical composition and so on. If there are unqualified parts, they will be trimmed or eliminated.
Packaging and storage:
Appropriate packaging of inspected 304 stainless steel bars to prevent surface damage or contamination and identification. Then, store it in a dry, ventilated, non-corrosive gas environment.
